Jim Von Eschen states that we have kept a sheet of groups playing in over 4 hours; he continues, saying that the groups that were slow in April, without fescue are still slow with the fescue. Lastly, Ryan would like to thank Pat Comiskey for her help with the June 9 & Dine. Ryan says that the event was a smashing success, with the next 9 & Dine scheduled for Monday, July 29th.

Deputy Chairman Report, presented by Ron Krawczyk

Ron would also like to thank Pat Comiskey for her work with the 9 & Dine; Ron states that it was a great night! Looking to the course, Ron says it is in great shape even with the crazy winds that we’ve been having. Ron would like to remind everybody that you can only look for a ball 3 minutes and that more people should hit a provisional ball.

Greens Report, presented by Joe Dabrowski

Joe begins by stating that we are officially in survival mode when it comes to the golf course in the summer heat and wind. Joe says that Chris is trying to keep the greens moist and you will see the crew syringing a lot. Continuing, Joe states that the fescue is beginning to thin out as it dries out and we will be cutting back some areas – specifically, the 15th fairway bunker and some more backsides of the sand traps. To finish, Joe says that they plan on cutting some more fescue back after the conclusion of the Club Championship.

Chairman Report, presented by Brit Lawlor

Mr. Lawlor begins with a statement from his wife who has been playing BGC for many years and recently played in the 9 & Dine. Mrs. Lawlor says that the course is as beautiful as she has ever seen it. Brit states that the Village has entered a contract with a golf consultant/management firm that will look at the entire property; from the buildings (Pro Shop, Catering, Old Superintendents, Tennis, etc). Nathan Rohrmeier says that this is exciting as we have some buildings that have to be replaced and a catering area that is underutilized. Additionally, Brit mentions that a refund will be given to Wayne Atkins, as he has withdrawn his membership at BGC.

Superintendent Report, presented by Chris Johnson

Chris says that he and his crew are cutting grass and hand watering greens a lot. Chris finishes by stating he would love some rain as soon as possible.

Director of Golf Report, presented by Jim Von Eschen

Jimmy begins by stating that the Men’s Locker Room air conditioning has been fixed; he apologizes for the delay as we were waiting for a part which finally came in. He continues, saying the hopefully the ice machine is fixed for the foreseeable future as there was a short from the outside pole on the street to the electrical box by the tennis courts. Jimmy asks for patience as Chris’ crew will be out hand watering the greens as needed throughout this hot stretch. Lastly, as far as pace of play goes, Jimmy says that we monitor the entire tee sheet and talk to people as need be on the 9th tee; those talks have continued to help.

Comments from the Crowd

Pat Comiskey – Pat brings up the bushes in between the 14th & 15th tees again; she asks if there is a plan for that area. Brit says that there is no plan yet and that he will try to have something for the next meeting but won’t guarantee it.

Bob Scalia – Mr. Scalia asks what buildings are going to be looked at when the consultant/management firm comes in. Both Brit and Nathan chime in and say that everything will be looked at and evaluated. Brit continues, saying that the Pro Shop and the house next door are in dire repair but the Village believes that they can get more out of the catering facility and wish to look into that.

Meeting officially ends at 6:16.
