Deputy Chairman Report, presented by Ron Krawczyk
The air conditioning in the grill room is being looked at and worked on; it is believed to be a frozen unit. Once it is fixed, they will keep an eye on it and we will go from there. Unfortunately, it might be a bigger issue than we believe. We first have to fix the original problem before moving on. Other than that, the golf course is in great shape. Keep it up Chris!
Ladies Locker Room/Food and Beverage Report, presented by Tara Ford
“I have nothing”
Chairman’s Report, presented by Brit Lawlor
I received an email from the Ladies; they claim that the fan installed in the Ladies Room must be cleaned or replaced. It hasn’t been cleaned in a “gazillion years”. Tara Ford notes that she hasn’t had a problem with it. Brit questions when the 5th hole turnaround will be paved. Jimmy states that it is going to get paved at the same time as the bins behind 2. They’re waiting for the area to dry before paving. The ladies continue to say that the weeds are taking over on the right hand side of the 18th tee. Chris states that come next year, we are going to be able to spray something which will prevent the weeds from growing but will not stunt the fescue growth. The plan is to actually cut that area down in the near future. Other than that, Brit states that the golf course is in the best shape that he has EVER seen it.
Superintendent Report, presented by Chris Johnson
We finally received our new rough mower and wow; it is an awesome cut. In the grand scheme of things, the new mower will save us about 1.5 days in cutting time. Starting next year, we are going to use a pre-emergent which will take care of the grassy weeds and any underbrush which sits at the bottom of the fescue. This won’t be an instant cure but it will, over time, take care of it. We will use 3 applications which will start in April. Other than that, we have to make it a few more weeks and then we’ll be in the home stretch.
Director of Golf Report, presented by Jim Von Eschen
We have a crazy few weeks coming up at the golf course:
The Men’s Member-Guest is Friday (course will be closed all day)
Monday we have an outing (Course will be open for 1.5 hours in the AM)
The Ladies Invitation is Tuesday (course will be closed until 3PM)
Men’s Club (80 Players) is scheduled for Wednesday
A make-up outing on Thursday (course will be closed all day)
After this is all done, the rest of the year should be smooth sailing. I was speaking with Chris the other day and we found some benches that are very nice and much cheaper than the one we currently have on 16. If we go ahead and order some, we should get enough to cover Tara’s list; that way all the benches throughout the golf course are uniform.
Comments From the Crowd
John Daley – I don’t have much today, which could be a surprise. I must say that in the 25 years that I’ve been a member here, this is the best I have ever seen the course conditions. Visually as well as functionally, it is in great shape.
Meeting officially concludes at 6:45PM.
