Parkland Golf Mantenance Company Letter from Ray Fell

March 10, 2015

Dear Member,

The Village has entered into an agreement with Parkland Golf Management Company for the improvement and maintenance of our golf course.  They began on March 1, 2015.  Their first efforts will be to assess the conditions of the greens, fairways, tees, rough and in general the playability of the course.  As a result of their assessment, they will develop an operational plan that will focus on improving conditions at the Bellport Golf Club so that members will have an enjoyable experience.

The company provides maintenance service for the Baiting Hollow Golf Club which is a private high end facility and maintenance service for five other courses in Suffolk County.  Their accomplishments in the field of golf course maintenance are highly regarded in the golf industry on Long Island and we are looking forward to improvement in the playing conditions at the Bellport Golf Club.

They have hired Greg Fox as the Superintendent of Golf.  He comes to the Bellport Golf Club with over 30 years of experience as a head Superintendent.  They have also retained Chris Johnson and Todd Furchert, so they will remain in the positions of Assistant Superintendent of Golf and Mechanic.  This will give Parkland Management Company two resources who have experience with the irrigation system and any unique problems that crop up during the year.

We sincerely hope that the Bellport Golf Club members will be the beneficiaries of the change in how the course is maintained.

After this difficult winter, I am sure that everyone is anxious to begin the golfing season.  Check the golf course website, bellportgolfclub.com for the date the course will open this spring.

Best wishes,

Raymond Fell
